The role of the Honorary Consul
The Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Londonderry has responsibility for the Consular District of Northern Ireland and in this respect assists the Government of Ukraine and it’s Diplomatic and Consular staff by contributing to the development of trade, economic, cultural and scientific relations between Ukraine and Northern Ireland.
In addition, the Honorary Consul can also offer guidance and advice for Ukrainian citizens seeking assistance in relation to services provided by the various government agencies and bodies and within Northern Ireland.
The Honorary Consul is however unable to provide assistance on issues such as passport matters, recording of births, deaths, registration and dissolution of marriage, visa matters, actions on citizenship, certification of public documents, notarial acts and other such legal matters affecting Ukrainian citizens and such assistance should be sought directly from Consulate of Ukraine in Edinburgh.
